The Kirklees 0-19 service is a key provider of the Healthy Child Programme, which aims to improve health outcomes for children and their families. We work closely with other local services to ensure families receive the right support at the right time. Every family in Kirklees is offered support by the 0-19 service.
The 0-19 service is an integrated team of 0-19 Specialist Practitioners, Health Visitors, School Nurses, Infant Feeding Specialists, Child Development Practitioners, and School Nurse Assistants.
Health Visitors and School Nurses are qualified nurses with a specialist qualification in public health. 0-19 Specialist Practitioners are qualified as either a Health Visitor or School Nurse, but have an additional certification enabling them to support the entire 0-19 age group.
Between the ages of 0-5, you will receive support from either a 0-19 Specialist Practitioner, Health Visitor, or Child Development Practitioner.
From ages 5-19, support is available from either a 0-19 Specialist Practitioner, School Nurse, or School Nurse Assistant.
