The 0-19 team is made up of different professionals and we include, Health Visitors, Child Development Practitioners, Infant feeding specialists and School Nurses.
Health Visitors are specialist community public health nurses. Health Visitors work with families and children aged between birth to 5 years of age, to identify health needs as early as possible with the aim to improve health, reduce health inequalities and support children to reach their full potential.
Child Development Practitioners work with families and young people. The focus of their work is to provide information and advice to empower parents, enabling them to provide the care and support their children need at each stage of their development.
Infant feeding specialists offer a variety of support in the home, on the phone, in clinics and small support groups. All the infant feeding staff are trained to the Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative standards to support parents with breastfeeding, bottle feeding and weaning.
School Nurses are specialist community public health nurses and focus on the health of children between the ages of 5 and 19. Identifying health needs and aiming to reduce health inequalities. Ensuring children and young people are given the best start in life.
