Children's Physiotherapy

Service update

Due to national guidance we are now working differently. Your first appointment will be on the phone or via video call.

Welcome to Children’s Physiotherapy!

Our physiotherapy team works to support children and young people aged 0-16 years in the North Kirklees area. We work with children and young people with a wide range of conditions that affect their movement, posture or physical skills development. We support children and young people to do what they need to do – grow, play, learn and be a part of family, school and social activities.

Our service is child and family focused and we are committed to empowering self-management. As well as providing assessment and treatment, we provide the information and education that individuals and their families need to support their child.

We have staff based in the Child Development Centre (CDC) on the site of Dewsbury and District Hospital. We also see children at home and in the education setting (North Kirklees) as appropriate.

What Our Patients Say

Patients are regularly asked about their experience. Locala respects the privacy of our patients and their carers and is committed to listening to a diverse population. Therefore our surveys are anonymous and include equality and diversity questions for monitoring purposes only.

Thank you so much! X has started crawling due to all your hard work! You have helped me a lot! Really, really appreciate it.  I’m so grateful for your help! It means a lot to me and my family! I was so worried about X but since you have taken control and I have seen a significant improvement in X's development. I can’t thank you enough! ☺️

X did discuss issues around her health and feelings of not being heard, listened to and understood by others/professionals. She does however have an excellent relationship with her physio. X says she feels listened to by her.
