I trained at Huddersfield School of Nursing qualifying in 1984. I worked within the acute trust for 26 years in a variety of areas including developing the respiratory nurse specialist role before moving to take up the new post of Community Respiratory Nurse Specialist in 2008. I provided Locala (then KCHS) with clinical input in the successful tender bid for the commissioned Community COPD Service in December 2010. My main interests are oxygen therapy, palliative and end of life care in non malignant respiratory disease and for some years I have contributed nationally in this field.

Trish Griffiths

I have worked for the local NHS for over 13 years. My background consists of working on a variety of wards as a healthcare assistant at Calderdale Royal Hospital (formally Halifax General hospital) which I then pursued a small career change at to train as a Phlebotomist where I spent 9 years there. I then moved to Dewsbury Walk in centre where I continued to work as a healthcare assistant providing blood tests, wound care and suture removal along with administrative duties. I had a brief secondment with intermediate care before starting my post here with Locala as a COPD healthcare assistant. I am very passionate about COPD as this disease runs close to home.
