From 1st April Locala will provide the Special Allocation Scheme in Calderdale and Kirklees for patients who have been excluded from their regular GP practice due to an incident where the police have been involved. Some patients are directly referred to this service on their release from prison.
This partnership provides an opportunity for teams to work together, particularly where there are challenging patients who may need an increased level of security present.
The service will be run separately from, although in conjunction with, the Whitehouse Practice, although appointments for these patients will not be at the practice. We are working with community providers to find suitable estates which best meet client’s needs, offering both security and accessibility.
