Blood Taking Service (Phlebotomy) 

COVID-19

1. Please sanitise your hands when entering and exiting the clinic
2. If possible attend the appointment alone as we have limited space in the waiting room to adhere to social distancing guidelines
3. Do not arrive early to your appointment as we only have limited space in the waiting room and you might be asked to wait outside
4. Please do not attend your appointment if you have any coronavirus symptoms as listed on the NHS website 

Tips for your blood test

1. Only fast for your blood test if your GP has asked you to do so 
2. If you have a fasting blood test appointment, please try to book this for a morning appointment
3. Please drink plenty of water to keep hydrated, even if you are having a fasting blood test still drink plenty of water

When having the test

1. Ask the nurse if you would prefer the curtain to be pulled round
2. If you are allergic to any plasters or skin wipes please tell the nurse
3. Tell the nurse if you take any medication that thins your blood
4. Wear loose clothing on your arms as we will need to access the elbow area

Please DO NOT press the buzzer between 12:15pm - 1:00pm as we are closed

Sometimes there could be a short wait, however we endeavour to see you as soon as possible.
