Please see below information regarding the SHARE App. There is a section for parents/carers wanting more details about the app and a section for professionals who are supporting parents/carers, children and young people.
To support the referral process, we are introducing a mobile phone app called SHARE for parents/carers to provide additional information about their child's speech, language and communication skills.
Parents/carers will need to download the app and complete a Questionnaire as part of the referral process within 2 weeks of the referral being submitted. It is important to gain agreement from parents/carers regarding this.
If parents/carers need help with the SHARE app or Questionnaire, they can attend one of our Drop-in Sessions or contact us on 0300 304 5555.
If the Questionnaire is not completed, the referral will not be accepted.
Parents/carers can also complete other activities on the app which include uploading a video of their child and/or completing the speech activities
Once all the information has been received, the referral will be processed.
The referrer and parents/carers will then receive a brief report highlighting if the referral has been accepted or declined and giving details of the child's speech and language strengths and needs.
If the referral is accepted, the Speech and Language Therapists will share activities and advice with parents/carers via the SHARE app to help them support their child while waiting for an initial assessment.
