Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Should I exercise with a heart problem?

Answer: it is very important to keep physically active to benefit your health and wellbeing. If you have been referred to the Cardiac Rehab team you won’t be on your own and the team will guide you to ensure you do the right things at the right time. Speak to your GP for further information.

Question. Can anyone access the Cardiac Rehab programme?

Answer: No, only if you have had a recent cardiac event and were admitted to hospital. If you want to start exercising and have not been very active recently, then please contact your GP surgery for advice.

Question: Why is the team called the ‘Heart Failure’ team?

Answer: ‘Heart Failure’ is the medical term for the diagnosis used by the medical profession. Our nurses have had specialist training in the management of the condition and therefore their professional  title is ‘Heart Failure Nurse Specialist’.
