ChatHealth

ChatHealth: an NHS-approved secure and confidential text messaging service for school-aged children and their families in Calderdale.

ChatHealth is brought to you by Healthy Futures Calderdale, and allows you to get in touch with a healthcare professional, at the touch of a button, for advice and support about physical health or emotional wellbeing.

The number for young people aged 11 - 19 to text is: 07480 635297. Parents/carers can text: 07507 332157 to start a conversation.

From 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, we have experienced clinicians waiting to help. Messages outside this time frame will receive an automated response letting you know when you will receive a reply, and who to contact to get immediate help.

Disclaimer: The service is confidential and you don’t have to give your name. While we do not usually tell anyone else if you contact the School Nursing team, we might if we are concerned about your safety, but we would usually speak to you first.

This is not an emergency help service, we aim to reply to you within one working day and you should get an immediate bounce-back to confirm we have received your text. If we need help more urgently contact a member of the school staff or your doctor.

This text messaging service is staffed between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

Please note: the text numbers do not receive voice calls or MMS picture messages. You can stop the healthcare professional from sending messages to you by texting STOP to the text number.

Young people are asked to respect your school’s mobile phone policy. Messages are charges at your usual rate.
