SERVICE CRITERIA: Locala Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Feeding/Swallowing Team provide a service for babies and children in the community who require an assessment and management of their eating and drinking skills and/or swallowing difficulties and where the child is deemed to be at risk and is presenting with:
Referrals for infants with suspected tongue tie should be referred to Locala Infant feeding Team or Locala Supporting Families Team who can be contacted via 0300 304 5555. For further information please click on the link : locala.org.uk/services/infant-feeding.
Referrals from professionals are required to have appropriate supporting evidence including observation of the baby/child feeding, detail of the presenting difficulties AND evidence of previous advice and targeted support provided and impact of this.
