The Supervised Toothbrushing Programme is an evidence based programme that can help to prevent tooth decay in young children by daily application of fluoride toothpaste on teeth. It can also promote daily toothbrushing as a habit for life.
The programme involves staff in early years and school settings daily supervising toothbrushing with the children in their care between the ages of 2-5 years.
Settings in the programme receive training, support and resources.
