Our School Nursing Team in Kirklees provide a range of support to children, young people and families and carers.

Parents/carers and young people can contact us for text support using Chathealth (8am – 5pm). To start a conversation:
The School Nursing service can be contacted via telephone on 0300 304 5555 or a referral made using the e-referral form.
- Supporting children and families where there are safeguarding concerns including:
* attendance at all initial safeguarding meetings
* support for children and young people who are on a child protection/ child in need plan/ TAF where there are recognised unmet health needs
- Sexual health support including :
*advice relating to behaviours and risk
*signposting to sexual health services, where required
- Drug and alcohol support and advice (this excludes smoking/vaping advice)
We also provide the National Child Measurement Programme in schools (weighing and measuring children) together with vision screening and hearing (when a concern is raised).

Eating disorder - support is available for those with significant risk or impairment (such as anorexia nervosa or bulimia) via Child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) (Kirklees) - South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
