Common Foot Problems - Calluses and Corns

Calluses and corns are usually found on the toes, soles of the feet, and hands in areas that have been subjected to friction and pressure. The hardened layers of skin in corns and calluses are actually your body’s way of protecting the underlying skin from irritation and pressure.
Although thickened, callused skin may not look attractive, it usually doesn’t cause pain.

Who is eligible?

The Podiatry Department will see you for the treatment of painful corns and calluses. This may involve a one-off appointment for treatment and self-management advice, a short course of treatment, or longer-term management for patients with more complex issues.
