Diabetic Foot Check

The majority of diabetic foot checks are done in your GP practice; they will assess newly diagnosed and low-risk diabetics by checking if the pulses in the foot can be felt and if there is any loss of sensitivity in the feet. If everything is satisfactory you will be classed as low risk and will be reviewed annually by the GP practice.

If there is any doubt over the results your GP practice will refer to podiatry to reassess your feet.

PLEASE NOTE- we only accept referrals for Diabetic Foot Check (DFC) from health care professionals. The referral MUST include the results of the foot check that initiated the referral and the patient's HbA1C result. If there are other podiatric issues please use the referral form for that specific condition.
