Play Intervention

Frequently Asked Questions

Why has my child been referred to the Play Intervention Service?

Your child will have been referred to the Play Intervention Service when a therapist already involved in your child’s care identifies a need for additional support in a particular area of development or feels your child would benefit from a short term episode of care to push your child to achieve their goals.

Where will the Play Intervention sessions be held?

Sessions will be held either at the child’s home/Early Years setting or Child Development Centre, Dewsbury. This will differ for each child and be dependent upon what works best for your child and family.

How often will the Play Intervention sessions be held?

Sessions will be held weekly or fortnightly and depend upon what works best for your child and family.

Do we provide transport to sessions at the Child Development Centre?

Unfortunately we do not provide transport.

Do you have toilet facilities or a changing place toilet?

We have toilets in the waiting area and in the main corridor. We also have a disabled toilet (you may need to ask for the access to the toilet). We do not have a changing places toilet but are planning to have a similar set up in the near future with hoisting. We do have a mobile hoist and can support changing in a clinic room.
