The aim of the seating provided in Occupational Therapy is to support a desired postural or functional need. The seating can range from very complex to help maintain symmetry throughout a child’s body from head to feet or a more simple solution to provide a slight prompt to help maintain seated posture. Additional accessories can be added to the seating systems to provide direct support to a specific target area whether this be the child’s head, chest, hips or feet.
