Locala colleagues shortlisted for HSJ Awards

Locala is delighted to announce that it has been shortlisted for the Community Provider of the Year category at the 2020 HSJ Awards in recognition of an outstanding contribution to healthcare.

There was tough competition from over 1000 entries in this year’s awards and Locala has been selected based on our ambition, vision and the demonstrable positive impact that our colleagues have made on patient experiences – as well as the improvements on systems and support for our own colleagues.
The news comes after Locala was rated Good across all our work by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) earlier this year.

Diane McKerracher, Chair of Locala’s Board, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Community Provider of the Year, recognising the collaborative efforts and dedication of our colleagues over the last 12 months.

“To be shortlisted for this award in such a challenging year across the health and social care sector is a major achievement for the 14,000 colleagues who work for Locala providing high quality care for our patients.

“In addition to the Good rating from the CQC, this recognition from a respected national body is further confirmation that we are moving in the right direction as we continue to work to improve our services.”
Now in its 40th year, the HSJ Awards is the largest annual benchmarking and recognition programme for healthcare. Through a rigorous, fair and transparent judging process the awards produce a roll call of the best organisations, teams and people in the NHS and the wider health sector.

The judging panel is made up of a diverse range of highly influential and respected figures within the healthcare community including: Sir Bruce Keogh, Chair, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s FT, Mark Axcell, Chief Executive, Black Country Healthcare FT and Caroline Beardall, Director of Workforce and OD, NHS England and NHS Improvement – South East.
