We are now taking referrals for Locala services. Once your referral has been received, it will be reviewed and a decision made about your possible treatment or care. You will then be contacted by the appropriate team with the relevant information.

Referrals may be accepted for adults aged 18 years and above and who are registered with a Huddersfield GP. The following groups are seen by other services (please see below for appropriate referral information).
Patients who do not have a Huddersfield GP | GPs outside of Kirklees will be able to refer patients to their local dietetic service |
Patients who are housebound | These patients can be referred to Locala’s Adult Therapies via 0300 304 5555 or via SystmOne |
Patients who required Home Enteral Nutrition | These patients can be referred to Locala’s Adult Therapies via 0300 304 5555 or via SystmOne |
Patients with Learning Disabilities and known to the Learning Disability team | The Learning Disability Team has access to a specialist dietetic service and are based at: Fox View Hub, 8 Fox View, Off Halifax Road, Dewsbury, WF13 4AD. Tel: 01924 316714. Email: [email protected] |

Patients with a BMI of 30 and above (or >27 if high risk) | If BMI <40Kg/m2 patients can be referred to Kirklees Wellness Service: https://kirkleeswellnessservice.co.uk/ If BMI 40-50+Kg/m2 referrals can be made to NHS Digital Weight Management Programme: https://www.england.nhs.uk/digital-weight-management/ If BMI 50+ referrals can be considered for bariatric team input by referring to Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust Bariatric team. |
