Locala has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and are now proud supporters of the Armed Forces Community. We have achieved the Silver Award in the Employer Recognition Scheme which acknowledges employers who have provided exceptional support to the armed forces community.
What is the Armed Forces Covenant (AFC)?
AFC is a commitment by communities and employers to support those individuals who protect or have protected our nation as a member of the Armed Forces or Reserves.
By signing up to the AFC, we are making a public statement that we understand members of the armed forces community should be treated with fairness and respect, and that we are committed to supporting veterans, reservists and their families in the workplace.
How does this link to Locala’s strategy?
Engaging with the AFC will support the following strategic priorities:
Social Impact: Locala committed to invest in projects which focus on reducing social isolation. Supporting veterans to return to meaningful work and the social aspects of employment will be a great help in reducing isolation.
Employer of choice: We are committed to attracting and retaining a diverse workforce. Locala’s workforce is currently over 80% female, whereas almost 90% of force personnel are male. Looking at how we can attract service leavers into vacancies at Locala helps increase the gender diversity of our workforce.
