Some STIs such as chlamydia are common with 1-in-12 young people infected!

You won't always know if you (or one of your partners) have an STI, because they often show no symptoms, but they can lead to serious health problems, and if left untreated can lead to infertility.

It's best to get an STI test every 12 months or if you have recently changed partner. If you've had unprotected sex, you should have an STI test after two weeks - waiting two weeks will provide a more accurate result.

We can send you a FREE confidential STI kit to your home, this will test you for chlamydia and gonorrhoea. It's really easy - simply order your STI test kit below, it will come out to you via Royal Mail within the week and then you simply collect your sample and return to the laboratory via freepost - it's that easy!

What happens if my results say I’ve got an STI?

Most STIs can be easily treated with antibiotics.

If you test positive, you will be contacted to arrange treatment at one of our Locala sexual health clinics. We will encourage you to talk to any recent partners so they can be tested as well or help you find the best way to talk to other people if you need to, and we can even contact them for you through ‘partner notification’ and not even mention your name if you prefer.

Don't pass it on

You should also avoid having sex until you have been given the all-clear, to prevent you being re-infected or passing the infection on
