Cost of training

Training Agreement for Local Trainees  

Locala is committed to partnership working and promoting uptake and access to high quality contraceptive provision and LARC locally. In the interest of this, the following training sessions will be provided by Locala at NO CHARGE for health care professionals employed in a permanent role within an area served by Locala Sexual Health services:  

  • LoC SDI training  
  • LoC IUT training  
  • Refresher sessions for SDI/IUT  

An administrative fee of £75 for processing of honorary contract will still be chargeable.  

Trainees that require more than one type of training will be charged an extra £25 per LOC.

Trainees returning to complete additional LOC within 2 years will be charged £25 admin fee per addition Loc training. 

*Additional sessions will be arranged if required but may incur a charge of £100 per session.

Faculty membership, application, OTA fees and diploma assessment fees remain the responsibility of the trainee. 


Non local applicants

For up to date faculty costs please see the fees section under the specific training you wish to undertake. Locala charges the following for the practical aspect of training. Please refer to the FSRH (Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare) website here for up-to-date fees for the specific training you require.

Diploma up to 6 sessions £400

LOC-IUT up to 6 sessions £400

LOC-SDI up to 4 sessions £300

Package of training (Diploma, LOC-IUT and LOC-SDI) £1000

LOC-SDI + LOC-IUT £500

Day of shadowing clinic £100


Payment Methods

Locala Health and Wellbeing can take payment in the following ways:

Debit/Credit Card

If you wish to pay by Debit/Credit Card, payment can be taken over the phone. Please call the finance team on 0303 003 4530 and select Option 2.

Inform the member of finance that you wish to make a payment for sexual health training and provide them with the payment reference you have been given. Once your booking has been confirmed payment can be taken and you will be asked to provide your payment card details.

Bank Transfer:

If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please call the finance team on 0303 003 4530 and select Option 2. Inform the member of finance that you wish to make a payment for sexual health training and request Locala’s bank account details. Please ensure you include the payment reference you have been given in the bank transfer details.

By Cheque:

Please make any cheques payable to Locala Health and Wellbeing write the payment reference you have been given on the back of the cheque and return to your nearest Locala Sexual Health Clinic.

Alternatively, cheques may be posted, with a copy of your booking confirmation, to our head office at the following address:

Refunds

All administrative fees are non-refundable.

If your session has been cancelled by Locala and we are unable to offer a suitable alternative, 100% of the course fees will be refunded.

If you cancel the session at least 14 days before the course start date and do not wish to re-book, 100% of the course fees will be refunded.  

If you cancel the session less than 14 days before the course start date 0% will be refunded. However, you will be given the opportunity to re-book your session.  

In order to process your refund, please send the following details to [email protected]

  • confirmation of your cancellation
  • the original payment reference to confirm a valid purchase was made
  • confirmation of your bank details (Account Number, Sort Code and Account Holder Name)

Refunds will be processed within 30 days from confirmation.

Checklist – before applying please ensure you have:

  1. GMC/RCN Number
  2. Address of Work Place
  3. Evidence of recent Resus and Anaphylaxis training.
  4. Certificate of Indemnity Insurance
  5. Hepatitis B Status
  6. DBS Clearance
  7. Copy of CV

OR instead of 4 to 7 we will accept a letter from your current employer or employing organisation’s human resources department confirming your employment status and fulfilment of pre-employment checks including all of the above.

In addition to the above for the following we will also need evidence of the following –

  • Diploma - Currently being updated in light of new diploma
  • Coil Training
    • ESRH Module 18
    • Evidence of EKA or Diploma
  • Implant Insertion Only
    • Contraception Online Counselling Course.
    • ESRH Modules 8 & 17
  • Implant Insertion and Removals
    • Evidence of EKA or Diploma
    • ESRH Module 17
