If your pregnancy test result is positive it means you are pregnant. All pregnancy tests, when carried out correctly, are reliable, including tests you do yourself.

Stockport has 2 independent providers who are able to provide free and confidential pregnancy advice, counselling and pregnancy termination clinics. They can be contacted by phone or via webchat. You do not need a GP referral to do this.

If you decide to go ahead, then call the Central Booking Service as they make the appointments for all the clinics in Greater Manchester. The staff are friendly and understanding and the sooner an abortion is done, the easier and safer it will be. In most cases abortions are free on the NHS. Call 0345 365 0565 during the following times:
- Mon to Fri: 8am - 9pm
- Sat: 9am - 6.30pm
- Sun: 9.30am - 2.30pm
