Keeping your baby safe

There are a wide variety of online resources available giving you advice on how to keep your baby safe.

We’ve collated some of them here to help you easily navigate to the best advice to support you with your new child. Some of them are written resources and some are short films, all available here to read or view at a time to suit you.

The Lullaby Trust gives simple steps for how you can keep your baby safe during sleep to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) which is commonly known as cot death.

Safety at home

This film has been produced for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) as part of a national Safe at Home campaign to help families keep their children safe from home accidents.

It covers accident prevention messages on falls, burns and scalds, drowning and poisoning and highlights the key pieces of safety equipment that can contribute towards reducing accidents in the home.
