Before moving to Locala, I progressed to deputy care manager in a small private residential home over a number of years. I then moved into the NHS working in a local doctor’s surgery as a receptionist.  I enjoyed a couple of years working as a nursing assistant on the renal unit at Dewsbury & District hospital before moving into Locala’s Podiatry department as administration officer. During this time I was successful in getting a co-ordinator secondment on to the DESMOND programme and now another secondment working within the Transformation team as a project officer.

I want to be part of the Members’ Council because I feel that over the years I have gained quite a varied amount of knowledge in different roles and I feel that I can contribute to the Council from all perspectives. As part of the Transformation team, I currently work with many services to implement and support change. I feel that being a Council Member will help me to understand what ideas are escalating to board level and how we support our colleagues out there appropriately- essentially becoming the ‘voice of reason’ for our colleagues who are dealing with the changes we implement. As a Council Member, I would continue to engage with our colleagues and the wider community, to continue to promote our values – The reason behind Locala becoming a successful social enterprise. I want to contribute to making a difference in the community with which I live as well as making sure Locala are successful at supporting their workforce – continuing to make it a happy place to work! I want to Be part of it.
