I qualified as a general nurse in 1995 and began working on a Paediatric ward at Pinderfields hospital.  I completed my diploma children’s nursing (RSCN) in 1998.  After a stint of travelling the world I began my school nursing career in 2000 and haven’t looked back since! have been a team leader since 2003 and a Community Practice Teacher since 2004.  In September I commenced a secondment as a Lecturer at the University of Huddersfield supporting the School Nursing pathway one day a week.

I have a genuine interest in the development of services locally that are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the population. I hope that Locala continues to develop and succeed and wish to contribute towards that. I am very passionate about children and young people and hope to get it right for them – they have very specific needs and can often be overlooked. I believe that there are many opportunities for future development of community health services. I would like to understand the professional issues facing the organisation, capturing the views of staff ‘on the ground’ and ensure that clinical leadership is a fundamental part of Locala.
