Thank you to the 90 community members, volunteers and colleagues who came together on Tuesday 6 September to celebrate Locala's achievements at the Annual Members Meeting. Our enthusiastic colleagues and external partners were keen to promote their services with 17 stalls featuring a range of services including Volunteering, Young People's Network, Single Point of Contact, Adult Therapies, Drug and Alcohol, End of Life Care, Kirklees and Bradford CaSH (who even brought along a campervan), Children's Speech and Language Therapy, Kirklees Active Leisure and South West Yorkshire Foundation Trust, to name but a few. The meeting featured a Directors 'Speed Dating' session, which provided members with an update and the opportunity to ask questions on key areas including quality, finance and performance, workforce and transformation, strategy, planning and partnerships and an employee ownership trust. The event was a fabulous chance for members to find out more about our Members' Council and some of the initiatives they have been involved in, alongside the new Care Closer to Home contract and the difference it has made to a patient with Parkinson's Disease. A volunteer and young speakers from the Locala Youth Network were also able to share their achievements and hopes for the future. Nine local community projects were presented with cheques from the Locala Community Fund. While FoodWorks, a social enterprise based in Bradford, which provides training for people with learning disabilities, served up a delicious supper for people to sample. Overall, the evening was a huge success and the feedback received was really positive. Thank you to all involved for making the evening a huge success! Work together, win together
